Eric Kean

Eric Kean,   ViolaEric Kean is an active teacher and performer in the Northwest. After graduating with Distinction in Statistics from Cornell University, Eric pursued further studies in viola at the Cleveland Institute of Music, studying with Mark Jackobs of the Cleveland Orchestra. Mr. Kean has performed with the Seattle Symphony, the Grand Teton Festival Orchestra, the Britt Festival Orchestra, and the Bellingham Festival of Music Orchestra, and as a soloist and chamber musician at the Newport Music Festival.  An active recitalist, he has performed on Boston Public Radio and alongside members of the Pacifica and Colorado Quartets.  Eric Kean, MarrowstoneHe has been a faculty member of the Department of Music at Western Washington University since 2002 and has given master classes both locally (University of Washington) and abroad (Mälmo Academy of Music, Sweden).  In addition, he has been a faculty member of he Department of Mathematics at Western Washington since 2001 and has also taught Mathematics at Oberlin College and Case Western Reserve University.
