Eric Han

Eric Han,   CelloEric Han began cello studies at age seven, giving his first public performance at the age of ten in Toronto’s George Weston Recital Hall. He started his training with Min Ja Hyun in Korea, later studying with faculty members from Vancouver Music Academy, Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music and the Colburn Conservatory. At age 15 Eric made his orchestral debut with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra at Roy Thompson Hall and, following his successful debut with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, he made a live recording (YAMAHA label) of the Elgar Cello Concerto with the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra under the baton of Sir Andrew Davis. In 2005, Eric made his European debut with a 12-concert tour in England that included a solo recital at the Edinburgh Festival and recitals at the St. Martin in Fields and Queen’s Hall. An active chamber musician, Eric has performed with many of world’s leading musicians including Joseph Silverstein, Roberto Diaz, Ani Kavafian, Ida Kavafian, Cho-Liang Lin, Chee Yun, Lynn Harrell, Gray Hoffman, Paul Coletti, and the members of the Altenberg Trio, Borromeo Quartet and Orion String Quartet.
